Gunji, Uttarakhand

Gunji is a small village in the Dharchula tehsil of the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand, India. It's located near the borders of Tibet and Nepal. The village is situated 65 km away from the sub-district headquarter, Dharchula.

Gunji is one of 21 upper-Himalayan villages in the Dharchula block of Pithoragarh district. It's at an altitude of 3,500 meters. The village is located at the east end of the Kuthi Valley, near the confluence of the Kuthi Yankti and Kalapani Rivers.

The village is only populated seasonally, with winters coming people migrate to lower places (mostly to Darchula, in the same district). The village is a popular base for trekking and mountaineering expeditions in the region.
