Lambasingi, Andhra Pradesh
The small hamlet of Lambasingi, affectionately known as the "Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh," is located at an elevation of 1025 m in the magnificent and lushly wooded Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh. The little community is famed for its gorgeous hills, picturesque valleys, and freezing weather, and it is one of Andhra Pradesh's best-kept secrets. As the temperatures drop drastically, this hamlet is the only site in South India to witness snowfall. Lambasingi is also known as Korra Bayalu, which translates to 'if someone stays out in the open, they will freeze like a stick!' in the local language.
Lambasingi is well-known for its tea and coffee plantations, as well as small apple and strawberry fields. Furthermore, the area is teeming with wildlife, plants, and fauna. The area was formerly highly forested and was believed to have hosted tigers. The region is well-known for its abundance of birds. Apart from that, this small hamlet of Lambasingi is home to a remote tribal group.
