Khamba

Khamba is a Gond settlement that borders the Pench National Park. For ages, the Gond tribes have lived in the forest, relying on it for medicinal plants, fuel, wild crops, and other necessities. When forest areas were designated as protected reserves, the traditional way of life of these communities was jeopardized. Living close to the outdoors might sometimes lead to confrontation with other forest dwellers. Herbivores frequently ruin the tribes' agricultural crops, while carnivores steal their animals. Reduced reliance on the forest and an alternate, sustainable source of income were urgently required.

There are pathways accessible for tourists visiting the Pench National Park & Tiger Reserve's tourist gate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day to witness the lives of the Gond tribes. The trips may be booked by contacting the travel desks of the hotels located near the tourist gate.
