Chanderi
A little town from the 11th century called Chanderi may be found in Madhya Pradesh's northern region. It is well-known for its charming forts, rolling hills, and exquisite hand-woven Chanderi sarees. This six-yard sculpture is prized for the creativity that went into its design all around the world. There are several different weaves available here, ranging from pure Chanderi silk to Chanderi cotton-silk, and each weave is exceptional.
Apart from Chanderi silks, chanderi is also famous for it heritage and culture. Chanderi fort, Jauhar Kund,Koshal maha, Badal mahal gate, Jama masjid, are the major historic and heritage monuments of chanderi. The Chanderi Fort was built during the Mughal era and was governed by various emperors. There are three fairly well-known gates that lead to it. Due to the fact that offenders were hurled from battlements from above, the main gate is called as "Khooni Darwaza." "Hawa Pur," the third and tallest gate of the Fort, is another gate. A gate known as the "Kati-Ghati" is located on the fort's southwest side. The Badal Mahal Gate, a unique gate building that doesn't open to a palace, is another attraction in Chanderi. It provides a stunning perspective of the fort above and is located at the southern end of the fort, opposite the Jama Masjid. The Gate stands 100 feet tall and is decorated with fine woodwork.
Other attractions of chanderi are, the only jama masjid in india without minars is found here. According to legend, mahabharata's shishupal once ruled this town. It is the major centre of Jain culture. Chanderi is known to have had 1200 baolis in the past.
