Buditi bell and brass craft
The goods produced at Budithi, a village in the Srikakulam district that is about 42 kilometres from Srikakulam, are known as Budithi Brass Craft. They are composed of alloys like brass. Brass utensils and other crafts are well known in Budithi. On the Bobbili road, Ponduru is roughly the same distance from Srikakulam and is known for its khadi fabrics produced with punsa cotton.
The life in this village revolves around creating beautiful shapes out of alloys. The shapes range from charmingly traditional items to elegantly modern ones. The art form expresses itself as traditional cooking utensils and in forms that suit contemporary needs - like flower pots and planters. Usually made of brass, the objects have patterns that are geometric, with straight lines and curves forming simple and striking presentations. Floral patterns are abounded too.
