Thembang is 46 km from Bomdila town, it is located at 2300m above sea level.A historically and culturally significant place of the monpa tribe. The Hamlet is an ancient place. The most intriguing attraction of this place is the Thembang Dzong.it was built in the 12th century AD,a fortified structure made of stones. It is also said that Thembang was ones part of Tibet and ruled by the king of Tibet. Thembang was also nominated as world heritage site of UNESCO In 2014.Arunachal Pradesh government has already declared Thembang as a state heritage site in the year 2015.
