Tera is a heritage village located in the Kutch district of Gujarat and has a very rich culture and history. According to a local legend, the village is called Tera' as it was sold for Tera (thirteen) thousand koris. Though the main occupation of the village is farming tourists can enjoy tie-and-dye or bandhani art form here, which is also significant activity of the village. It is in the vicinity of the ecozone Naliya grassland near the Gulf of Kutch. It is an important pilgrim site for Jain, Hindus, and Muslims. Tera is the first village in Gujarat that acquired the status of a heritage village.
