Tarchit, Ladakh
Tarchit is a small village located in the Nyoma tehsil of the Leh district in Ladakh, India. It is situated about 75 km from the town of Leh, at an altitude of about 3,600 meters. Tarchit is a beautiful village with a population of around 167 people. The villagers are mostly farmers and shepherds, and they live in traditional mud-brick houses.
Tarchit is known for its stunning scenery, including snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and rivers. The village is also home to a number of Buddhist monasteries, including the Hemis Monastery, which is one of the largest and most important monasteries in Ladakh.
