About us :: Surwahi Social Estate Kanha (SSEK in short) is an eco-friendly Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board approved Bed and Breakfast tucked in the forest near the Khatia gate (21 km) of Kanha Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, India . It is spread across 10 acres of forest estate which has been conserved, regrown and protected offering conscious luxury experience through a unique blend of mud based sustainable building design in deep woods and vernacular settings. For its guests it offers 2 Family Suites and an 8 bed Earthen Dormitory with modern amenities having rural ambience promoting holistic wellness. We are Pet friendly, Disabled friendly, Kid friendly. During this tenure of 6 years from land acquisition to ideation of sustainable hospitality concept to conservation of surroundings to building up an abode our local, multitasking, humble, benevolent first staff member Narendra Patle has played an instrumental role to shape this responsible dream. We follow best practices of decarbonising construction, water conservation and afforestation benefits. 2. We also have a registered all women self group named ‘Deetya Jagriti Women Self Help Group’ with 16 resident members. 3. We are an approved Bed and Breakfast under the aegis of MPTB. Founders & Starting :: Its brain child of 2 online travel e-commerce veterans - Ankit Rastogi and Pradeep Vijayan who have together seen rise of online bookings for the accommodation sector within travel over the last decade. Ankit Rastogi has been in leadership roles at Goibibo, Cleartrip, Makemytrip and Stayzilla (India’s clone of Airbnb startup in 2015-2017). Pradeep still holds the Director Accommodation role at Cleartrip which is part of India’s largest Ecommerce firm, Flipkart. As a result of their job travel both have combined done at least 1000 check-ins and have been exposed to every nook and corner of diverse India. This experience of extensive travel also provided the realisation of how excessive travel or travel without responsibility is leading to spoiling of local resources, community and increasing short term view towards the destination Indians are traveling. Hence the idea of SSEK was born in late 2015 with the sole aim of establishing an Eco-sensitive Tourism property standing tall on 4 pillars of Agri Tourism, Rural Tourism, Wildlife Tourism and Wellness tourism. Lately another travel veteran Ex AirIndia, Goibibo, Stayzilla, a serial entrepreneur and debut travel author Priyanka Rastogi also joined the team from leading the Hospitality Training, Skilling and Operations perspective.
