Munroe Island, also known as Mundrothuruthu, is a scenic village located at the meeting point of Ashtamudi Lake and the Kallada River in Kollam district, Kerala, India. The island group consists of eight small islets covering an area of about 13.4 km². It is well-connected by road, rail, and water, and is home to a population of 9,599 as of the 2011 census. The village is famous for its rich cultural heritage, including the Dutch Church and the Kallada Jalotsavam boat race. Munroe Island is also known as the "Sinking Island of Kerala" due to the effects of the 2004 tsunami and ongoing soil erosion.
