- Description

Mangkhaia Lung stands 5 metres tall. In honour of a wellknown chief of the Ralte tribe by the name of Mangkhaia, it was built in 1700 AD. It is a unique, huge construction that doubles as a memorial stone with several human figures carved into it. The guardians of the deceased are thought to be represented by these figures. There are a number of smaller stones nearby that bear engravings of mithuns, an animal that is particularly common in north-east India.
