Lokaldari, situated in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, spans across 392.25 hectares and is inhabited by 842 individuals, predominantly the Gond tribe. Agriculture, food gathering, and animal husbandry are the primary occupations here. Surrounded by lofty hills, forests, and picturesque scenery, the village offers a rich rural life intertwined with the Gond tribe's cultural heritage, evident in their traditional rituals and art. As part of the Mahakoshal cultural zone, Lokaldari is also referred to as Gondwana due to the prevalence of the Gondi language. The village is embraced by tropical dry deciduous forests housing various trees such as Mahua, Achar, Amla, Tendu, and Sal. Living in harmony with nature, the community provides a serene escape from urban life. Visitors can immerse themselves in tribal art during their stay, while adventurous souls can participate in traditional honey harvesting, a thrilling experience that involves climbing tall trees to gather honey from beehives suspended by ropes.
