The Kodhus mostly live in the Visakhapatnam district's hill tracts of Araku Valley, Paderu, and Munchingput. Kodhus is primarily known as a Primitive Tribal Group in the Visakhapatnam regions of Paderu and Araku Valley. They perform dimsa (a type of dance) using unique drums called dappu (side drum) and thudumu (bottom drum) (a big round drum that replicates the base drum in a Tabla pair). Female members usually conduct the dance while men members beat the drums in a certain customarily structured pattern.
