Shachokol, Ladakh

Shachokol is a village in Leh district of the Indian union territory of Ladakh. It is located in the Durbuk tehsil.

The main occupation of the people of Shachokol is agriculture. The village is known for its production of apricots, apples, and pears. The villagers also raise livestock, such as sheep, goats, and cows.

Shachokol is a popular tourist destination, known for its scenic beauty and its proximity to the Nubra Valley and the Pangong Tso lake. The village is also home to a number of Buddhist monasteries, including the, which is one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh.
