Koyul, Ladakh

Koyul is a small village in the Leh district of Ladakh, India. It is located in the Nyoma tehsil, on the banks of the Koyul Lungpa river just before it joins the Indus River. The people of Koyul are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, and tourism. The village is known for its beautiful scenery, its Buddhist monasteries, and its proximity to the India-China border. The village is also a good base for exploring the nearby Demchok village, which is the last village in India before the China border.
